Russia sends humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip
World
Early this morning, an IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry left for the airport of the city of El-Arish. This is reported by RT.
It is noted that the cargo includes cereals, flour, sugar and personal hygiene products with a total weight of more than 29 tonnes.
"The aid will be delivered to the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt and handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, who will transfer it to the Gaza Strip," the office said in a statement.
This is not the first time Russia has lent a helping hand to the people of Gaza. Last week, a Russian EMERCOM flight also delivered a significant humanitarian cargo to the region.
In addition, it is important to note that on 16 March, the German Air Force also took part in the relief effort by dropping humanitarian supplies over the Gaza Strip. Food containers weighing 4 tonnes were dropped by parachute.
