On 11 January, 7 out of 9 Uzbek citizens were killed in a road accident in Penza region of Russia, 2 passengers were hospitalised with various injuries and are undergoing treatment.
Today, 11 January, as a result of a road accident in Penza region of Russia, 7 Uzbek nationals were killed. Information about this situation was brought to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported in the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is noted that according to the order of the President, all necessary measures are being taken to deliver the dead and wounded citizens to their homeland on a special aircraft of the Ministry of Defence. The Ministries of Emergency Situations, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Health and Transport, the Agency for External Labour Migration and other relevant organizations are working together on the return of deceased citizens.
According to the information of the duty unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, on January 11 this year at 02:20 (Moscow time) at 503 kilometres of the M-5 motorway, a JAC and a Volvo truck, travelling on the territory of the Russian Federation, Penza region, Nizhnelomovsk district, collided. Of the 9 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who were in the car JAC, 7 died at the scene, 2 passengers were injured of varying severity, after hospitalised and are now undergoing medical treatment.
"Officials of the Russian Federation are providing direct assistance in the immediate elimination of the consequences of this accident and the provision of emergency medical assistance to the victims," the report said
