Spain Appoints a New Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the credentials of Ricardo Martínez Vázquez, the newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Uzbekistan, whose residence is in Moscow. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.
"We have received the credentials of Spain's newly appointed Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mr. Ricardo Martínez Vázquez," wrote the Uzbek Foreign Minister on his Telegram channel.
"It is evident that the dynamics of bilateral relations between our countries are on the rise. We highlighted the great opportunities that our foreign ministries must jointly implement. We wish the ambassador success in developing new directions of Uzbekistan-Spain cooperation and in his fruitful activities," Saidov emphasized.
The 66-year-old experienced diplomat Ricardo Martínez Vázquez has previously held various positions in Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign diplomatic missions, as well as serving as Spain's Ambassador to Germany. Since July 2024, he has been working as Spain's Ambassador to Russia.
For reference, Farrukh Tursunov has been serving as Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Spain since December 2023.
