Tanzila Narbaeva Assesses Regional Export and Human Potential
Uzbekistan
The working visit of the Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, to the Surkhandarya region demonstrated a comprehensive approach to assessing the region's potential, ranging from the launch of innovative industrial clusters to the transformation of the youth education system. The inspection covered key points of economic growth, social innovations, and mechanisms for strengthening parliamentary control on the ground, aiming to boost the export capacities of the territories.
At the center of the economic agenda was the deep processing of local raw materials and import substitution. In the Muzrabat district, Tanzila Narbaeva examined the operations of "Surxon KSP Grand" LLC, where a unique furniture cluster is unfolding. The enterprise has already established the production of chipboard from ordinary reed, and is currently installing advanced technological equipment to launch a laminated chipboard line. This project not only creates jobs but also shifts the region toward eco-friendly zero-waste industrial tracks. The region's pharmaceutical sector is preparing for a qualitative leap thanks to an injection drug plant under construction in Termez. The project is being implemented in cooperation with India's leading pharmaceutical company, Nova Pharm, based on international GMP standards, which will saturate the domestic market with high-quality medicines and open new export corridors.
The social block of the visit focused on training a new generation of personnel. The Head of the Upper House visited a unique Etiquette School for Girls in Termez, which features programs on speech culture, stress management, digital communication, and family psychology. Concurrently, at the regional branch of the IT Park, the Senate Chairperson held an open dialogue with young developers and freelancers. They discussed mechanisms for supporting startups and scaling up the export of digital services, which are set to become a driver of the local digital economy.
A special emphasis during the inspection was placed on auditing political institutions. The review of the Muzrabat District Kengash of People's Deputies touched upon the quality of session preparations, the effectiveness of deputy control, and the responsiveness to citizens' appeals. Following the trip, the working group formulated a package of targeted recommendations aimed at increasing the level of production localization and introducing modern management standards into the activities of local representative authorities.
