Tashkent Names International Student of the Year

The first International Student of the Year Awards ceremony was held in Tashkent at the Youth Creativity Palace. The event was organized by the International Union of Students of Uzbekistan with the support of the Youth Affairs Agency and the El-yurt umidi Foundation.
Awards were presented in four main categories. The title of “Student of the Year” was awarded to Nozira Davroni, a student at Columbia University in the United States. Asadbek Ismoilov from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology won the award for “Contribution to Society and the Diaspora.” The award for “Representing Uzbekistan on the International Stage” went to Aakib Niyaz, a student at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The “Innovation of the Year” award was presented to Asliddin Akbarov from the University of Siena in Italy.
The ceremony also marked the official launch of the International Union of Students of Uzbekistan (UzSU) in the country and included a panel discussion on the role of students studying abroad in Uzbekistan’s development and global image.
