Tashkent residents are recommended to wear masks

The international Air Quality Index website currently shows that the concentration of PM 2.5 in Tashkent city air is 20.2 times higher than the WHO annual air quality standard. This was reported by Rasul Kusherbayev, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

As of 11 January at 09:00, the capital of Uzbekistan was on the 9th place in the IQAir service rating (in the evening it was on the 8th place).

"The air quality here is rated as harmful. Tashkent residents are advised not to play sports outside, close windows, wear a mask and switch on air purifiers," Kusherbayev said.
