The Karasu Canal embankment has become a picturesque spot
Uzbekistan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction work carried out on the banks of the Karasu Canal in the Urtachirchik district.
Today, special attention is being paid to the improvement of coastal areas and the creation of modern infrastructure in all regions of the country. Such projects not only create comfortable recreational areas for residents but also open up new opportunities for regional development by tapping into new economic opportunities.
The embankment of the Karasu Canal in the Urtachirchik district has become one such cozy recreation area. Construction work, which began last year, includes the improvement of a 9-kilometer stretch of coastline. The project cost is 32 billion soums.
The project is being implemented in two phases. First, a 1.6-kilometer stretch of coastline between the Tinchlik and Karasu mahallas will be improved. Residents have access to modern pedestrian paths, a fountain, workout areas, a water park, and a tunnel under a bridge. Ornamental trees have also been planted, comfortable benches have been installed, and catering and service facilities have been constructed.
The next stage plans to create an entertainment, recreational, and food street along the canal section running through the Karasu, Rovatak, and Faizabad mahallas. The number of retail and service facilities will increase to six, creating 150 new jobs.
