On 12 January, President of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired an extended session of the Security Council dedicated to the results of the Armed Forces and military-administrative sectors in 2023 and tasks for the near future.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state analysed the results of the work carried out in 2023 to further strengthen the country's defence capability and develop the Armed Forces. The activity of ministries and agencies, local government bodies in this direction was critically assessed, and reports of responsible leaders were heard.
"Today each of us must be a true patriot of the Motherland and educate our youth in this spirit," the President said.
In this connection, the head of state gave specific instructions to responsible persons to revise the system of military-patriotic education. The task was also set to strengthen military-patriotic activities in the media space in order to strengthen the civic position of young people.
In addition, at the meeting, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief set tasks to further improve the combat readiness system on the basis of innovative and scientific approaches, to introduce modern military and scientific developments in information exchange and decision-making.
