The President signed a decree pardoning 488 prisoners

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree pardoning 488 prisoners who sincerely repented of their deeds and embarked on the path of correction. This decision was made on the eve of Ramadan Hayit as a sign of mercy and humanism.

Among those pardoned, 100 people were fully released, 268 were sentenced to probation, 34 received lighter sentences, and 86 had their prison sentences reduced. The list also includes 17 foreign citizens, 37 women, 37 elderly people over 60 years old, and 167 young people under 30 years old, including one minor.

In order to adapt the released to a new life, government agencies will take care of their support, social rehabilitation, and employment.
