The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with the updated project for the expansion of the Tashkent metro. According to the plan, 10 new stations will appear from the "Buyuk Ipak Yuli" station to the Tashkent Tractor Plant (TTZ), which will provide convenient transport links for 148 thousand residents of the capital.

The project will cover 30 mahallas, which will significantly improve transport accessibility for residents of the eastern part of the city. Previously, various options for extending the line, including underground and overground construction, as well as different routes, were discussed. The Head of State instructed to finalize the project, taking into account the convenience, safety, and quality of construction, before starting its implementation.

Extending the metro to TTZ is an important step in the development of Tashkent's public transport. The district suffers from traffic congestion, especially during peak hours, and the new line should unload traffic flows and reduce travel time.

Initially, the project to extend the metro to TTZ was discussed back in 2020, when a 7.9 km line with four stations was proposed. However, taking into account the increase in passenger traffic and transport load, the authorities decided to expand the route.

The implementation deadlines have not yet been announced, but previously, the construction of similar metro sections took about five years. Currently, financial calculations and technical and economic expertise of the project are underway.
