The US and the UK launched new strikes on Houthi targets
The strikes targeted Houthi facilities in the Al-Tuheit neighbourhood.

Following the escalation of the situation in the Gaza Strip, Ansar Allah has announced its intention to attack Israeli territory and blockade ships associated with Israel in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until the end of the operation in the Palestinian enclave. The Houthis have attacked numerous civilian vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden since last November.

In response to the actions of Ansar Allah, the US authorities announced the formation of an international coalition and the organisation of Operation Prosperity Guardian to ensure freedom of maritime navigation and the protection of ships in the Red Sea. On 12 January, US and British military forces, using various types of equipment, first conducted strikes against Houthi targets in several Yemeni cities, including Sana'a and Hodeidah. The targets included locations where rebel missiles, drones and radar stations were based.
