Unrest in Ecuador leads to more than 1,300 arrests

Ecuador's armed forces and police have arrested 1,327 people since the beginning of the prison riots.
This was reported by the administration of President Daniel Noboa on social network X.
The report said that between 9 and 14 January 2024, 1,327 suspects were detained, 143 of whom were arrested on suspicion of terrorism. Five terrorists were eliminated and two policemen were killed.
About 500 firearms, about the same number of bombs and over 5 tonnes of drugs were reportedly confiscated.
