Uzbek Citizens Will Be Able to Fly to Hong Kong Visa-Free

Uzbekistan and Hong Kong are advancing to a higher tier of strategic and tourism partnership. Following the official visit of Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee to Tashkent, the parties agreed to implement a comprehensive mutual visa-free framework for periods of up to 30 days. The exchange of verbal notes grants citizens of Uzbekistan unrestricted access to one of the planet's primary financial hubs, while offering businesses direct investment pipelines into artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu held high-level talks in Tashkent, exchanging verbal notes of intent to sign an intergovernmental agreement establishing a mutual 30-day visa-free regime. Once ratified, the document will permit Uzbek citizens to visit Hong Kong visa-free for up to a month, while expanding the visa-free stay for Hong Kong passport holders in Uzbekistan from the current 10 days to 30 days.
Beyond travel relaxations, the sides formalized plans to initiate collaborative joint ventures. Operating as a premier international business hub, Hong Kong intends to deploy capital into the modernization of the Uzbek economy, transport logistics, digital restructuring, and artificial intelligence (AI). Technical experts are now transitioning to harmonize the specific conditions required to operationalize the visa-free framework as swiftly as possible.
