Yandex intends to launch an IT internship programme in Uzbekistan

Yandex intends to launch an IT internship programme for developers from Uzbekistan in 2024, the company's press service reported.
Earlier Yandex said it plans to open an office in Uzbekistan this autumn, it will be located in Tashkent.
After the opening of the office, Yandex plans to start recruiting for internships to train young IT specialists. The internships will help create a talent pool both for the company and for the entire IT industry in Uzbekistan, the company stated to the media.
According to the press service, the start of internships is part of Yandex's IT education programme, under which the company will open new programming schools for high school students in Uzbekistan, launch programming courses for computer science teachers and open access to Python methodological materials for them.
"Yandex also supports the Technovation Girls mentorship programme to develop girls in IT entrepreneurship and holds intensives on sports programming. Uzbekistan is one of the priority markets for Yandex. Expansion of business will be possible due to the conditions created in the country for the development of IT-companies and launch of digital services," the company added.
Last October, Yandex Go opened a programming school for students in grades 8-10 in Tashkent's IT Park. The free one-year programme will allow selected students to master Python and learn how to create web applications, chatbots and user interfaces.
